Just like the previous vintage, the 2015 Clos Apalta scored 100 points in James Suckling’s report, who described it ‘more powerful than the 2014’. A blend of 46% Carménère, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the wine shows a complex nose of dark fruits such as cassis, blackberries and figs, along with nuts, cinnamon and liquorice. Intense creamy attack with black fruit flavours. Long-lasting velvety tannins, followed by an intense and elegant finish.
