Hot and dry conditions in Clos Apalta during the 2012 vintage resulted in earlier ripeness of the fruit and superb quality. This year’s blend is a combination of 66% Carménère, 19% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a bright and lively red wine, with complex aromas of cherries, raspberries, rose petals, blackberries, black pepper and sandalwood. On the palate, it is full-bodied, yet very refined, with notes of blackberries, cassis, chocolate and some herbal undertones. Clos Apalta is organic certified by CERES and biodynamic certified by DEMETER.
