The 2010 Clos Apalta spent 24 months in 225l new French oak barrels before bottling, unfined and unfiltered. It has a higher proportion of Carménère than previous vintages, making up 71% of the blend. The wine has an expressive nose of plums, red cherries, dry figs, blueberries, vanilla, clover and white pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with good freshness and grainy, chalky tannins. Drinking well now.
