Dominio del Aguila is a small, family run winery producing incredibly high quality and thoroughly modern wines in the village of La Aguilera in the Ribera del Duero. Though only established in 2010, winemaker Jorge Monzon is one of the most exciting prospects in the region having honed his skills at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Vega Sicilia. Canta la Perdiz is an incredibly limited 1220-bottle release of a Tempranillo-dominant field blend from one of the oldest vineyards in the village. The 2015 is an extraordinary wine of sensational aromatic complexity. Full-bodied, velvet-textured and beguilingly elegant, it unfurls in the glass to reveal wonderful layers of mulberry, blackberry, nutmeg, anise, Mediterranean herbs and earth.
