Most of France was hit hard by the German Occupation from 1940 to 1944, but down in Bordeaux the wine business actually thrived. 1940 was a particularly good year for red wines, which are now expressing a lovely bouquet and unique notes of mushrooms and truffles. A well-rounded bottle that has withstood the test of time.
