Angelo Gaja purchased the Ca’Marcanda estate in Bolgheri 1996. The 2004 is an exceptional release with a supremely detailed nose permeated with aromas of sweet dark fruit, smoke, spice, dried herbs and stoney minerality. There is huge depth and persistence on the palate all contained within a silky and finessed tannic framework.
