Bushmills 21YO is aged in three different types of oak barrels before bottling - Oloroso, Bourbon and Madeira. The Oloroso butt contributes a rich, dried fruit character, the Bourbon barrels contribute a distinctive vanilla note while the Madeira cask adds a sublte nutiness to the nose and palate. This is one of Bushmills most awarded bottlings and it`s easy to see why.
