Weingut Burgerspital is a VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) wine estate in the Bavarian region of Franken that has more than 700 years of history and tradition. From 120 hectares of vines, they cultivate classically styled wines produced from Riesling, Sylvaner and Pinot Noir. Made in a dry style, this is an exceptional example of Riesling from a lesser-explored area of Germany.
The unusually shaped round-bellied bottle used by Burgerspital is called a Bocksbeutel and is reserved for their finest bottling. It is a historically significant bottle type that has been used for almost 300 years.
