Soldera’s 1996 Brunello di Montalcino has plenty of primary aromas, including black cherries, crushed black plums, blood orange, and dusty roses. Secondary and tertiary notes include hints of clove and cedar, roasted figs, bruised leaves and leather. The wine is dry, with soothing acidity, and gentle tannins that have softened over the years. The finish is long and very elegant.
