From superb Brunello producer, La Gerla, Riserva gli Angli is only produced in selected years from a 1ha plot of old vines in the north-eastern sector of Montalcino which translates as ‘Vineyard of the Angels’. From the excellent 2013 vintage, this is a robust and powerful release, imbued with rich dark fruits, heady spices and tarry, earthy undertones. A superb wine that will age for at least 20 years.
