Biondi-Santi produces three wines: Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino and this Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, made from the oldest vines on the Il Greppo estate and only in exceptional years. The 2008 vintage has a complex nose of redcurrants, Morello cherries and blackberries followed by fern, medicinal herbs, iodine, tobacco, leather and graphite. The palate is warm and endearing, finishing on a mineral, balsamic note.
