Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2011
Part of Bruichladdich`s on-going experiments with little known barley varieties. This particular edition using Publican and Oxbridge varieties grown on six remote Scotttish farms. Aged in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-sweet wine casks including some which previously held Rivesaltes and Sauternes.
Deep citrus notes on the nose are joined by creamy vanilla, peaches, milk chocolate and orange peel the palate. The finish is light with a hint of ocean spray and green apple and freshly crushed barley.
