Established in 1680, Château Branaire-Ducru is a Fourth Growth Bordeaux wine producer situated in the Saint-Julien appellation. The estate is currently led by François-Xavier Maroteaux, son of the late Patrick Maroteaux, who acquired the property in 1988. The 2019 vintage is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, aged in 60% new oak. Expect crunchy black fruit character on the nose and palate, with spiced, nutty nuances. Best enjoyed from 2026 onwards.
