The 2018 Château Branaire Ducru comprises of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. The still young wine feels a little subdued at first, but it is already showing a firm tannic structure, with lovely notes of raspberries, blackberries and blackcurrants, along with hawthorn, brambles and a sprinkle of black pepper. A very promising wine that requires some patience.
