Bourgueil Le Grand Clos Yannick Amirault 2018
Yannick Amirault established his domaine in 1977 with just 3.9 hectares of vines that he inherited. Today, the estate spans 20 hectares of organically cultivated vines and is looked after by his son, Benoit. Le Grand Clos is made from 100% Cabernet Franc for a 2-hectare plot of 45-year-old vines located close to the Abbey of Bourgueil. It is bright and fresh with delicious notes of blackberry, wild mint, rosewood and a distinctive stoney minerality. At first rich and unctuous, it grips with a light lick of tannin and finishes clean and refreshing. This would be an excellent match for seared tuna.
