Though tiny in size, Domaine Sylvain Cathiard has an impressive array of prestigious vineyard holdings across Vosne-Romanée and is one of the most revered producers in the whole of Burgundy, known for crafting exceptional wines of remarkable purity, depth and energy. This is the most entry-level Pinot Noir offering made from a 0.27-hectare parcel of vines planted in 1987 in Flagey (opposite Clos de Vougeot) and matured in seasoned oak. In average years there are just a few barrels produced of this wine which performs far above its modest classification.
