Under the aegis of estate manager Jean-Luc Pepin, with winemaker François Millet and Eric Bourgogne in the vineyards, Domaine Comte de Vogüé ranks amongst the very best Burgundy houses. Their 1988 Bonnes Mares reveals some herby, undergrowth edge to the nose, with slightly medicinal notes. The palate is spicy and earthy, with great acidity. Quite firm, structured and spicy with a solid tannic structure. Perfumed and eloquent and beautifully evolved.
