The 9.5-hectare property of Château Bonalgue is planted to 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, with vineyards located just northeast of Libourne. Rated by Michel Rolland as ‘one of the best Bonalgues ever produced’, the 2018 vintage starts off with aromas of plums, liquorice, freshly cut flowers and a touch of smoke. On the palate, the wine is silky and refined, with layers of ripe red fruits and earthy notes. Drink from 2023 through to 2033.
