Trained at Domaine de la Romanée Conti and Domaine du Compte Armand in Burgundy, Verónica Ortega is a rising star among the new generation of producers working in Bierzo. ‘Quite’ is her entry-level, single-varietal Mencía, from various parcels of organically tended vines around the village of Valtuille de Abajo. Given a 15-day maceration and aged for seven months, the wine has an excellent texture, laden with mulberry and brambly fruit, followed by liquorice, nutmeg, herbal and floral notes.
