Now led by Brice de la Morandière, Domaine Leflaive is one of the most legendary estates in Puligny-Montrachet. It incorporates 22ha of vineyards, including an envy-inducing 10ha of Premiers Crus and 5ha of prized Grands Crus. Under the stewardship of the late Anne-Claude Leflaive, the domaine became a pioneer in biodynamic farming in Burgundy, with the entire property achieving conversion in 1997.
The Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is produced from a single 1.15-hectare parcel planted in 1958. All fruit is manually harvested before fermentation in 25% new oak casks and maturation in cask for 12 months. 2017 was a highly successful vintage for the domaine, combining incredible concentration of fruit and plush texture with taut acidity and ample mineral tension to pull it all together.
