Batuta Niepoort Half 2011

37.5 cl
£43.20
An independent family-owned wine business since 1842, Niepoort is widely considered to be one of the highest quality Portuguese producers, with many new and innovative wines created since the early 90s by the iconic and supremely talented Dirk Niepoort.

‘Batuta’, which means an orchestral conductor’s baton, was first released in 1999 with the intention of highlighting the elegance of wines from the Douro Valley. A field blend with fruit sourced from 70- to 100-year old vines, it is vinified very gently to produce a wine of wonderfully attractive berry fruits, lifted spicy complexity and superb mineral tension. The 2011 is just entering its drinking window but will easily keep for another decade.
