Lucien Le Moine is a small, boutique négociant house founded in 1999 by Mounir and Rotem Saouma. With production limited to 100 barrels per year of solely Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, their portfolio of wines is consistently of tremendous quality. Winemaking is very particular, with remarkably slow fermentations and all the Crus (both whites and reds) aged on 100% of their lees with gentle bâtonnage several times per month. The wines are never racked and are bottled unfined, unfiltered and with minimal sulphur.
Typically full-bodied, exuberant and sumptuously textured, the Bâtard-Montrachet from Le Moine is often one of the longest-lived whites and is a pure delight if given 3-5 (or more!) years in the cellar.
