Batard Montrachet Henri Boillot 2015

Henri represents the fifth winemaking generation of the Boillot family and has, in recent years, greatly enhanced the reputation of their wines. Making wines both from his own vineyards and from purchased fruit, he has a portfolio that showcases some of the greatest vineyards in Burgundy. The 2015 Bâtard-Montrachet sits in the glass, pale yellow in hue with subtle green tinges. It bursts forth with vibrant and intense aromas of ripe peach, citrus oils, griddled nuts and white flowers. On the palate, it has beguiling satin texture, exceptional volume and remarkable concentration of fruit, all kept in place by incisive, perfectly judged acidity. A superb release which is approaching its optimum drinking window but should expect to continue evolving until the end of the decade.
