Now led by Brice de la Morandière, Domaine Leflaive is one of the most legendary estates in Puligny-Montrachet. It incorporates 22ha of vineyards, including an envy-inducing 10ha of Premiers Crus and 5ha of prized Grands Crus. Under the stewardship of the late Anne-Claude Leflaive, the domaine became a pioneer in biodynamic farming in Burgundy, with the entire property achieving conversion in 1997.
From the superb 2018 vintage, this broad-shouldered, rich and intense release was produced from four parcels of Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru that were planted between 1962 and 1989. It was fermented in 25% new oak casks, followed by 12 months maturation in cask and a further 6 months in bottle. The Wine Advocate award this 95 points and gave a drinking window of 2027-2050.
