Château Batailley is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux, dating from the 15th century. A 5ème Cru Classé, it is known for producing wines of consistently high quality and excellent value. The nose of this 1989 vintage reveals notes of cigar box, leather, blackberries, blackcurrants and forest floor. On the palate, there is a well-balanced palette of flavours, including cassis, blackberries and forest floor against a backdrop of softened tannins. This is mature Bordeaux at its best.
