Vietti Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2013 is a full-bodied single-vineyard Nebbiolo red wine from the Barolo appellation of Piedmont, northern Italy. Founded in the late 19th century, Vietti has been a pioneer in the Langhe region of Piedmont, producing wines that are as diverse as they are exquisite. From the robust and age-worthy Barolo Rocche di Castiglione to the vibrant and approachable Barbera d’Alba, Vietti’s wines are known for their purity, balance, and ability to express the unique characteristics of their terroir. On the 2013 Rocche di Castiglione. "The 2013 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is ample, generous and also surprisingly rich. The more intense, voluptuous side of Rocche comes through loud and clear. Even with all of its textural depth, the Rocche possesses superb aromatic intensity and nuance. The 2013 is an unusually rich, racy Rocche, with tons of mid-palate richness. In many vintages, the Rocche is open-knit and sensual, which gives it a certain amount of early accessibility. I don`t see much of that in the 2013. Readers will have to be patient here."
