Luigi Calissano founded his winery in the rolling hills of the Langhe region in 1872. He became very well-known for his dry table reds but also for Traditional Method Sparkling and, above all, vermouth. This is a fully mature bottle of the Riserva Speciale Barolo from the 1970 vintage, which is widely regarded as an excellent year, producing relatively long-lived and characterful wines.
