Roagna are one of the finest producers of Barbaresco and Pajé is amongst the most historic vineyards in the village with vines that are on average 40+ years in age. Winemaking is still exceptionally traditional with the harvested grapes undergoing an extended maceration and fermentation in large oak casks before the wine is barrel aged for approximately 5 years.
From the brilliant 2015 vintage, this is a beautiful release with evocative aromas of wild strawberries, herbs, violet flowers and tar. On the palate it is firm with youthful tannins but exhibits superb mid-palate concentration and a finish of remarkable, mineral-infused length. Yet another unbelievably classy wine and a benchmark for the region.
