An experimental release from The Balvenie produced using dark roasted barley - more commonly used in the production of Stout or Porter beer. After 26 years of oak ageing, the result is a striking blend of honeyed sweetness alongside a smokiness and roasted oak character one rarely finds in single malt Scotch. This is a big, malty dram with notes of burnt orange and toffee across the nose and palate while the finish is soft and pleasing.
