The Bahans Haut-Brion is the second-label wine of Château Haut-Brion and is produced from the same grapes grown for the estate’s flagship wine. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It represents a slightly earlier-drinking, more approachable alternative to their grand vin. The 1990 is still displaying vibrant aromas of black fruits, cedar, tobacco and mushrooms. The palate is fleshy, with well-integrated tannins, and a jammy, low acid finish.
