Domaine Coche-Dury was founded in 1973 by Jean-François Coche. Now under the stewardship of son, Raphaël, the Coches farm nearly 9 hectares of vineyards across six communes. Though unquestionably most revered for their whites, there are now also six bottlings of Pinot Noir.
The 2018 Auxey-Duresses Rouge is produced from two parcels (Les Fosses and Les Boutonniers) planted in 1982 that total 0.5 hectares of vines. As is the case with all Coche-Dury reds, all fruit is fully destemmed and vinification is very gentle. It is vibrant, juicy and fresh, yet has pleasing richness and complexity, with subtle underlying earthiness.
