There are just two wines produced under DOC regulations in the Montefalco area of Umbria – one white and one red. The Rosso must by law contain a minimum of 70% Sangiovese but will often also contain the locally grown Sagrantino grape variety.
The 2017 Rosso from Montefalco icon, Arnaldo Caprai, is a robust and delicious blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino and 15% Merlot, aged for 12 months in French oak barrique. It is the perfect accompaniment to rustic pasta dishes or simple charcuterie platters.
