Antica Terra is the exciting project of ex-Sine Qua Non assistant winemaker, Maggie Harrison. Based in the Eola-Amity Hills of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Harrison’s winemaking philosophy follows no formula but her attention to detail is remarkable, resulting in wines of exceptional quality yet immense personality.
Antikythera is produced entirely from a tiny rocky vineyard in the northernmost part of the Eola-Amity Hills. Harrison describes the wine as “a bit of an anomaly” that “tends to defy characterisation.” Often the Pinot Noir from this site has an incredibly savoury, non-fruit profile, with an intense cinnamon-stick aroma and Barolo-esque tannins.
