From the iconic Giuseppe Quintarelli estate comes the unusual cult wine, Alzero. From the incredibly warm 2011 vintage, it is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, produced with grapes that are dried on straw mats before fermentation to concentrate and intensity the flavour. It is an incredibly rich, complex and ageworthy wine yet always exhibits remarkable balance and finesse.
