Hemelrand is a vineyard planted in a very cool, windy site 360m above sea level and is particularly suited to the aromatic white varieties Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Roussanne, Verdelho and Muscat. The idea is to bottle the wine just as the vineyard produces it, effectively creating a field blend that changes annually dependent on vintage conditions.
