Albarino A Grana Alberto Nanclares 2019

Alberto Nanclares is an organic producer of Albariño in the sub-region of Val do Salnés, in Rias Baixas. From just 2.2 hectares of vines divided into 12 separate parcels he crafts 10 different white wines. First produced in 2016, A Graña is 100% Albariño from a single plot of 30-year-old vines in the village of Sanxenxo. After gentle pressing with the stems, it was indigenous-yeast fermented in a combination of 800-litre used chestnut barrels and stainless-steel. It was aged on lees for 11 months with a small amount of bâtonnage prior to bottling without clarification and with minimal SO2. This is a distinctively tensile, mineral and saline expression of Albariño that would pair perfectly with fresh seafood.
