Alban Vineyards was the first American winery exclusively dedicated to cultivating Rhône grape varieties, namely Roussanne, Grenache Noir, Viognier and Syrah. Lorraine is 100% Syrah from a combination of marine soils with cobbles and sandstone vineyards laced with chalk. Aged for nearly 4 years in oak barrels, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. The nose displays sweet fruits, liquorice and cinnamon notes. The palate is powerful, ripe and complex, with a distinct spicy character to the finish.
