Based in Napa Valley, Abreu Vineyards is a highly regarded wine producer focused on Cabernet-driven blends. The estate was founded by David Abreu in the 1980s and consists of four vineyards. Madrona Ranch, Las Posadas, Thorevilo and Capella, where this wine comes from. It is one of the oldest sites in St. Helena, sitting alongside a Catholic cemetery on the west side of town. The 2008 is showing beautifully now, boasting intense aromas of dark berries, herbs and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is seamless and deep, with fine tannins and on-point acidity, finishing on a dark chocolate note.
