Aalto has only existed since 1999, however, with Mariano Garcia (Vega Sicilia winemaker for 30 years) at the helm the winery has gone from strength to strength and is now one of the most highly regarded producers in the Ribera del Duero region. PS is strictly limited to 20,000 bottles per year and the 2012 was produced from selected plots of 60 to 100-year-old Tempranillo vines in La Horra, Fresnillo and La Aguilera. It is a deep, rich and powerful wine, with delicious notes of black fruits, tobacco, espresso grounds, cloves and liquorice.
