Aalto Magnum 2016

Aalto has only existed since 1999, however, with Mariano Garcia (Vega Sicilia winemaker for 30 years) at the helm the winery has gone from strength to strength and is now one of the most highly regarded producers in the Ribera del Duero region. The flagship wine, Aalto, is 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) sourced from 40- to 80-year-old vines located in seven different villages and is matured for 16 months in French and American oak. The 2016 is a stunning release with superb intensity but fantastic overall balance. Rich and full-bodied yet remarkably smooth, it offers up delicious notes of black fruits, liquorice, spices, tobacco and earth.
